Objects Hermès Spring Summer 2020
For Hermès’ Spring/Summer 2020 Objects, I was invited to create a series of illustrations around the annual theme Innovation in the Making, in collaboration with Paris-based studio Pilote.
The project was conceived as a continuous, imaginary mechanism in which objects from the collection become part of a playful chain reaction. Bags, garments and accessories are stacked, suspended and balanced among pulleys, threads, weights and colourful geometric forms, turning familiar objects into components of a larger system.
Presented as a leporello, the illustrations unfold into a single extended composition, allowing the mechanism to travel from one page to the next. The project was later translated into animation, setting this improbable machine in motion.
